Here are five of my favorite vegan resource websites that I check out for ideas and information.
1. VeganHealth.org
This informational website comprehensively addresses a wide range of topics related to vegan health, vegan diet, and the vegan lifestyle. Just a few of these topics include information on the nutritional requirements of the vegan lifestyle, information on vitamins, and pertinent data related to a variety of health conditions. Topics such as diabetes, pregnancy, and children’s health are just of few of the conditions explored from a vegan perspective.
Veganhealth.org is an ideal quick reference source for any individual seeking quick access to health, lifestyle, and nutritional concerns related to the vegan lifestyle. Set up like a virtual library in site map form, it is one of the easiest websites to navigate and quickly find what you are looking for.
Not only can you find health and nutrition information on this site, but you can also find recipes and links to other vegan websites that deal with specific concerns, issues, and questions about the vegan path.
2. FoodGawker.com
This site is a recipe site and intended to provide you with a photo gallery that will guide your recipe selection process. Anyone looking for something new to cook can scroll through the photo gallery and find a recipe that looks appealing. Trust me, your eyes will invite you to try a recipe! When you click on a food photo, the site publishes the instructions and ingredients for that dish. Not all recipes are vegan, but like the previous site we looked at, there is plenty here for the vegan to sample, and it is very easy to find.
3. OhSheGlows.com
Anyone who has ever struggled with self-esteem issues related to weight gain and/or an eating disorder can be encouraged by the content on this site. It focuses on teaching people how to love healthy food and to help their bodies as they enjoy that food.
People particularly appreciate the helpful tone of the content. The site also includes an open forum where readers can discuss food issues, and it also includes a number of vegan recipes for people looking to make the vegan path as enjoyable as it is healthy. Visiting this site will help you gain a new appreciation of a diet that contains no animal products, but contains a wealth of flavor and fulfillment.
4. FatFreeVegan.com
This site is completely vegan, and it is written by a vegan. Its purpose is to help people maintain a healthy body weight as they walk a path free from all animal products. The recipes on this site are fat-free and flavorful. Both the author and her family have personally taste-tested and unanimously approved each recipe on the site.
For those of you who want to visit a 100% vegan-only website, this site is an excellent source of tasty food that can help you maintain a healthy weight and enjoy your new lifestyle to the fullest.
